Florian Wirtz’s family has reportedly flown in for discussions with Manchester City, fueling speculation over a potential transfer as competition for the highly-rated midfielder continues to grow.

Florian Wirtz’s parents met with Manchester City officials on Tuesday during a brief visit, as the battle to sign the Bayer Leverkusen star intensifies.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong is reportedly very interested in a move to Liverpool, should the Premier League champions ramp up their efforts to find a successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.
Despite growing speculation, Florian Wirtz’s departure from Bayer Leverkusen this summer is far from certain. Over the weekend, CEO Fernando Carro suggested there’s a 50/50 chance the midfielder will remain at the club. Sporting director Simon Rolfes struck a slightly more optimistic tone, saying: The chances are 60/40 that Florian will stay.
Rolfes added, Florian is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen, and we’re working hard to make sure that remains the case next season. But we’re also aware that many top clubs are interested. This isn’t the first year we’ve had offers that was true last year as well. But we’ve always had the feeling that Florian believes this is the right place for his development.

Pep Guardiola has held talks with Florian Wirtz as Manchester City intensify their pursuit of the German star, with a record-breaking £126 million deal reportedly on the table.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward, 22, jetted in to Blackpool from Maastricht in Holland as City look to beat Bayern Munich to his signature.
